Music From Memories From Jamie Tiller

In early 2014, I received an email from a gent named Jamie Tiller. He introduced himself and his label, Music From Memory, and said that he read my Pitchfork reviews and wondered if I might fancy hearing music from his new label: a compilation of heretofore unknown-to-me Italian keyboardist Gigi Masin and Rhode Island’s finest lo-fi synth purveyor, Leon Lowman. Pitchfork (naturally) turned down both pitches, but a connection was made and correspondence ensued. Over the next 9 years, no other reissue label tickled and challenged my expectations quite like Music From Memory.
